The global energy market is changing at unprecedented speed, alternative generating technologies such as solar PV and wind capture most of the capital invested globally into new generating capacity. With almost no marginal cost, subsidized by high feed-in-tariffs and backed with long-term fixed power purchasing agreements (PPAs) in many developed as well as developing countries, lots of capital is pouring into these low-risk projects. However, despite their recent rapid capacity expansion, the main disadvantages of current renewable energy technologies compared to their conventional counterparts remain significant.
With each generating unit of solar PV and wind replacing obsolescent coal power, the share of inflexible generation output is rising and will eventually lead increasing needs of flexible generation in form of electricity generation units which can time-shift or store electricity. We are involved in the changes of the energy markets through our services in the supply chain, our own project developments and investments. We aim to find new efficient ways to supply all citizens around the world with mobile energy (energy carrier), cheap and flexible electricity as well as freshwater, reliably to wherever and whenever it is needed.
DESALINATION
In 2016, worldwide more than 700 million people in 2016 didnt have access to enough clean water. In 10 years the number is expected to explode to 1.8 billion. In many places, squeezing fresh water from the ocean might be the only viable way to increase the supply. The traditional criticism of desalination reverse-osmosis technology is that it costs too much. The process uses a great deal of energy to force salt water against polymer membranes that have pores small enough to let fresh water through while holding salt ions back. We look to address the issue of high energy costs by combining desalination with concentrating solar power (CSP), which generates heat and electricity most efficiently in the areas lacking stable water supply the most.
FLEXIBLE ENERGY GENERATION
The real value of generating technologies in liberalized energy markets is not only decided by the investment and operating cost, but mainly by the revenue streams that it can create, which depend on the operation flexibility and time value of electricity sold, reflected in varying electricity prices. The increasing share of inflexible generation from wind and solar PV plants leads to larger fluctuation in the market prices of electricity with even negative electricity prices during low-demand periods due to oversupply. We pursue investments into renewable and flexible electricity generation capacity like CSP, power-to-gas technology and all kinds of storage systems, that create value by time-shifting electricity production to high demand/value periods.
We provide OEMs and sup-suppliers with complete supply chain solutions, which range from standard fasteners, specified drawing parts to the assembly of components forming complete product systems, that serve as our clients inputs for further processing. Our comprehensive systems competence, extensive production experience and a large pool of qualified producers enables us to support our customers in managing their purchasing. We aim to complement all needs of our customer base and are able to achieve significant purchasing and process cost savings for both producers and end-users.
By forming strategic alliances with third party producers ranging from metals to all forms of processing like extrusion, peeling, forging, casting and machining, we are providing the automotive manufacturers and their sub- suppliers with complete supply chain solutions. We fulfill even the most complex logistic management tasks and needs including just-in-time deliveries, batch tracing, C-part management and call-up orders. Our compiling kits and packaging can meet all customer needs, irrespective of packaging material, label size and the general design of the kits.
